Week 3 - 10 Photos in 10 Metres part 2

This week I have opted to continue the idea of capturing 10 photos within 10 metres of where I was but I have to admit I cheated a little.  Although this pen was within 10 metres of me at the time, I brought it home and took the picture there.

Week 2 - The Learning Continues

Another week has gone by and I am really enjoying the challenge of a printable photograph every week with the added push to make sure it's not too similar to previous posts.

Working title for this photograph is "M.C. Escher, eat your heart out".  It was taken from the top of the stairs at my office, which, as you can tell, is a heritage building parts of which have thankfully been preserved despite a variety of well meaning attempts to update the place.  I was inspired to photograph my immediate surroundings by a quote I read recently that said there are 10 great photographs within 10 metres of where you are right now.  Well, I was at work, and this is photo #1.  Next week's photo might be another in this series as the weather is awful and I'm not terribly inspired to be outside with plastic bags on my camera in the pouring rain.  Now, if the snow sticks, I'll be outside!

Learning to Blog

It seems that I need to be accountable to something in order to keep working towards my goal of becoming a professional photographer.  With that in mind I have decided to start a Blog with the goal of posting a new photograph every week.  So here we go...

Canon 20D, Canon 17-85mm lens, ISO 400, f 5.6, 1/200

This photo was taken earlier this week at the nearby railyard.  The only changes I have made to the original image is to desaturate the colour.
